How insane has advertising become?

Ok, I have been trying to write this post for some time now..........I have made some mental notes about T.V. commercials that I have seen recently. Let me say upfront, I am a fan of commercials. If you have never taken the time to watch commercials as an art form and reach for the mute button, I suggest you change your evil ways!! Untill then here are some stupid things that have bothered me this month.

1. Sally field has given up trans-ams and mustach rides with Burt to do pharmaceutical commercials. Her latest is for either Brevia or Fosomax or some Osteoporosis medication. The line goes something like this:

"My friend told me the other day that she has to set aside time to take her Osteo pill one morning every week. I told her she should switch to my brand and take her life back"
I ask you....How much time do you have to set aside to pop a pill and take a drink of water.....Wow, she must get up an hour early or sleap in her clothes to make up that exaustive chore. Are we as consumers this stupid?

2. The new Toyota dealership just opened in Lagrange Georgia. As far as I know, people still go to car dealerships to buy cars....right?

Here is the line:
"We are finally open with plasma flat screens and wireless internet"
What the hell would I want to go see his plasma's? I guess I could check my e-mail, look at the latest news on the B-Rad pad or look at slip nips on J-Lo.THERE YOU GO....HAPPY COMMERCIAL WATCHING
