I do want to make some comments on my views because I have been asked so many times. First let me say if found guilty of breaking the law, you should be punished.
I am fed up with how everytime something happens in America, the Nancy Graces of the world and the FOX, CNN jury spins their web of influence 24 hours a day. As soon as a snippet of information is said on the news, everybody takes it as FACT. I heard today "They beat those kids and torture them by holding them under water" "They are forced to have sex and are raped by 50 year old men when they are 13" " They are forced into doing whatever they are told" "They are a crazy dangerous cult that is going to commit mass suicide unless we step in". Has this been proven? Because you saw it on the news it must be true? We have become so intolerant in this country that anything that is different than the good old Baptist way is a CULT!
So here is a few short things I just want to get off my chest. They look funny, dress funny, dont go to movies or watch TV, they dont have granite countertops or take trips to Disney. They pray all day and live a sheltered life.....does that make them "crazy".
What about the things mainstream religions do.
In school I was not allowed to have a prom because dancing would turn us into sex maniacs (we had a senior banquet).
I was told for 12 years at a Methodist Bible school that going to movies was wrong, listening to rock music was the way of the devil, tatoos/piercings/boys with earings/skirts above the knee were all evil and would land us in Hell.
We were required to attend chapel every wednesday during school, take Bible class and recite bible versus for a grade. I repeat "required".
We were told in the 8th grade that people who got a divorced had sinned against God and a second marriage was not recognized by God and therefore an abomination.
Catholics walk around at work on one day of the year with a cross drawn on their forhead out of ashes.
They dont eat certain foods on certain days.
They have a leader who is one of (if not the most) influential individuals in the world. They have rituals and chants and for God sake they break down on their knees to kiss the mans hand.
What about the Christian Right....you want to be president, better have the Christian Coalition on your side. Like everything in our country, what we do is not crazy and anything thats different is a cult.
One thing we have yet to learn how to deal with effectively and responsibly is religion. CAn someone please explain to me why the Catholic church has acknoledged and the courts have proven that high ranking members within the church engaged in child molestation, yet the have been allowed to operate tax free. Noone is calling to disband a religion that some would say forces priests to live a lifestyle that breeds deviant sexual behavior with children. CAn someone tell me how the church of scientology (feel free to look into the lives this organization has ruined) has been allowed to build their mega offices all over America and take advantage of tax breaks. Are they not a giant pyramid company built on the ideas of a criminal. They are not even an established religion. All that and nobody is breaking down their doors. Selective prosecution is just a way of life in our country.

Hey Jimmy Joe:
I think that boys with skirts above their knees are still in question as to whether they are going to Hell or not: "/boys with earings/skirts above the knee were all evil and would land us in Hell"
This is your big meat-skinny lunch meats' older brother. You should email me because I just found out how to get hold of you. Glad to see you are doing well.

See ya round, cornbread
Think you are a little off base here. there is something inherently wrong with anyone "doing" 14 y/o girls other than possibly 13-16 y/o boys. I think mahr is a little off base as well..who makes him "god"
Did you miss the part of the story where underage girls are having sex with of age men. I understand they were married it does create a situation where the underage girl may feel obligated to marry an older man. I see your point though. You need to consider though that this is no longer America. For all practical purposes we now live in pre-revolutionary America. Im starting to think we should change hail to the chief back to god save the queen.
