Good Luck with this one because I Just can't pick a winner! These songs are both GREAT! Nobody will ever duplicate the sound that CCR had....One of the best of all time. Then again who other than Springsteen has the ultimate rock and roll rebel look that the Cougar pulls off. Wew, I am glad your doing the voting on this one.

Tough one. I'm going to go with CCR, but only 'cause I'm an old fart. That is my only reason. That and my creepy cousin Nicholas tried to kiss me in his basement to the John Cougar song. Bad memories of creepy incestuous cousins. Ew. Okay, now I've said too much & it's just awkward.
I am again finding myself agreeing with Carmen. Pretty scary but not because my cousin tried to kiss me.
This song by CCR is possibly the "Cinderella" song in this bracket.
And i thought Incetupus cousins were limited to the South!
I'm going with JCM. I was born in '74 and sort of grew up listening to Cougar. Plus, I have been to his parents house (where he grew up) in Seymour, Indiana and have seen him in concert in Bloomington. I was born in a small town, although I didn't kiss my cousin. So, it was actually a theme song for us Jacksonian boys.
CCR is great and I like the song but not picking it this time.
My dear brother, please pick the right damn JCM song next time. Im picking CCR, did you know the Boss sang this song with Foggerty in a concert.
