Auburn coaching, recruiting and the need for a chill pill.

Football fans in this state are somewhat loony! We not only stalk underage high school kids but we act as if we have degrees in talent evaluation. This whole "cruiten" is out of control. "He's not a five star, he is a four star". "He wasn't even rated by one of those fat guys lurking in the metal bleachers every Friday night". Every website forum out there likes to give these arm chair scouts the platform to illuminate us on the "one old coach missed on".

Now it seams that once a coach places those team colors on, he can never leave for another job. News flash for all you overweight fantasy GM's, It is a job. Sometimes you get to work at a place you really like. Sometimes you drive a Honda and work at Ford. "OH how could coach Willis leave us for that awful team?" Because its his job. Let the man coach for Alabama and remember his time at Auburn favorably. This kind of irrational thinking is what makes me wonder if it wouldn't be better to just be a South Alabama fan or an Akron Zips follower. Can we just get back to the game of football?

How long will it be before this rivalry leads to both schools being put on triple secret probation for handing over stock options to 17 year old guys. It is becoming such an arms race that eventually mistakes are found. Notice I didn't say "made" but "found". Temptation and expectation is a combination for disaster my friend, so lets back off the expectation and just watch a game of football from the stands.
