Can we just have football!

All of you know that I am a big "Barner". Those of you who visit often understand that I am not one of those bash the Hell out of Bama kind of fans. I am a die hard Auburn fan all the way. I want to beat Bama every year and break three legs in the process. I love when they get their butt handed to them. What I do not want is either Bama or Auburn handcuffed by the NCAA. Nobody wants an Iron Bowl without the best players on the field. Alabama has a great football tradition, a great university and one Hell of a coach. If they could ever find a way to get rid of some some of those fans that just do not represent the Alabama fans I know.

All of this constant rule infraction crap that has nothing to do with football is ruining the game. So some college kids at Auburn found a way to cram in a few crutch courses....its college. So some Alabama athletes found a way to scam some free books for their friends...it's college. What does any of this have to do with tossing a football around. Enough with the tight rope walk that these coaches and universities have to do every day. "Oh my God...did I say the wrong thing to the wrong guy"..."Did I spend over my allotted limit on doughnuts for a recruit". If a guy is pulling a Blue Chips tractor buy then step in. If college kids are doing stupid things that college kids do.....well chalk it up to learning a thing or two about life.

I know that it is the administrations job to watch everything with a magnifying glass and that they are accountable for what goes on. My problem is that some kid in high school who wants to play at a University gets told "sorry kid we ran out of rides" over something that has nothing to do with football. Can we stop making football teams look like cheaters every time a kid screws up or makes a bad decision. Punish the kid involved or punish the pencil pusher.....just stop punishing the fans and the team.

Lets just play some damn football!
